Too Many Bowls

What? Another bowl game? Jeebus. And they call it the “Super Bowl”? What… oh. Anyway. Who is going to win? The Saints or the Colts. Read on to find out what I think. (more…)

News From All Over

It’s only May for frak’s sake. At least OTAs are underway in the NFL. Which means we’re getting ever so close to the start of… training camp. At least the NBA and NHL playoffs are over alr- what… really? how far are they… oh really. Anyway, the end of the off-season is much nearer that it was the last time we met. Large men in plastic armor will soon stride grassy fields and do battle for our entertainment. I, for one, can’t wait. (more…)

Almost There

The NFL Draft is tomorrow. College spring games are wrapping up. The Redskins will open the training camp “season” on July 20th. Football will soon be upon us dear readers. Super Bowl XLIII: Musings

I intend to turn the game on for a few minutes here and there to “check the status”. And also becuase we’re a little homesick, so seeing the stadium (even if it is done up in NFL livery) will be a nice reminder of home. (more…)

You Didn’t See This Coming Either

Unless you’re a die-hard Giants fan, you didn’t think they’d win. Heck, even most Giants fans, while wanting to win, didn’t think they’d win. Admit it. Sure maybe you were telling people that you hated the way the Patriots strut around. And you’re sick of their cheating ways. But you knew, just knew that they’d win Super Bowl XLII. By a lot. That it would be over before Tom Petty started lip syncing through his hits. (more…)

History

Our friend, TMQ, has a chip on his shoulder regarding the legacy of the 2007 Patriots. In his opinion they will be forever tainted by the stigma of “Spygate”. Mostly, he contends, because the NFL did not fully investigate the issue. And in fact destroyed much of the evidence that was turned over to them. We here at TALB, on the other hand, think that it’s deeper, but less sinister than that. (more…)
