For the second straight time, I’ll be away from Tampa when the Super Bowl is played there. Last time I flew out to Los Angeles on game day for work. But was able to attend a kickin’ Super Bowl party at the home of a friend of a friend. This time we’re out here on our own in San Antonio. I intend to turn the game on for a few minutes here and there to “check the status”. And also becuase we’re a little homesick, so seeing the stadium (even if it is done up in NFL livery) will be a nice reminder of home. (more…)

The media focus this week in the NFL is on the two future hall-of-famers under center, and their destiny to face each other at UoP Stadium. But the thing TALB wants to know is, can the immortal Billy Volek step-up and take his team to the promised land? Is he going to get the chance? This week is when the rubber meets the road in the NFL playoffs. The top dogs have had a week off (or in some cases two), and the wild cards have had to scrap their way to this point. The safe money says pick the home teams. And statistically you’d be right. But I’m not so sure that’s the case in the NFC. (more…)

Season To Date: 45-25 (.643)
For the pro games, I’m going with the TMQ Isaacson-Tarbell Postulate (ITP), which states with regard to predicting football games: “Best Record Wins; If Records Equal, Home Team Wins.” Which currently has a 72% accuracy rate, compared to the top “experts” who are at 68%. (more…)
