Of course Peter King is already in felating position for his personal lord and savior. And the 
Packers’ staff is, rightfully, not very happy about any return. King lays out perfectly the veritable shit-storm that would face the Packers should The Mississippi Chucker decide to put his ego ahead of everyone and everything else. Injecting a little sanity is the aged-one himself, calling the report “all rumor”. Of course, that won’t stop Peter King from getting all gussied up for even the remote possibility that his #1 man crush might be back in a pair of tight pants. And we at TALB won’t miss an opportunity to jab at both of them for your entertainment.
Now, should Favre actually return what in the hell will happen? As noted by King, the Pack can’t really afford to keep him around. He costs too much both in terms of salary and the club’s future at the QB position. If I were Aaron Rogers not only would I not be happy, but I’d be on the phone to McCarthy and Thompson right now telling them that if he comes back, and they keep him on the roster, that I want to be traded. I’m sure there is more than one team out that would do the deal too. 
As for his alleged boredom tending to his Mississippi acreage; how dumb is this guy? Start a foundation. Buy all or part of an Arena league team. Sail around the world. For a guy like him, there are plenty of things he could do with his time and his money.
Roger Goodell needs to get involved. He should pick up the phone and tell Brett, “For the good of your legacy, the good of the Packers, and the good of the NFL you should stay retired. It’s not that we don’t want you, it’s that we don’t want to see you go out like Joe Montana. And we don’t want to see the Packers sink into a well of mediocrity from which they may never recover in 2009 or 2010 when you do decide to really retire. What can the NFL do?
