Opening Day

Yesterday was opening day for our favorite sport, Major League Baseball. And it was glorious. Of course, the Washington Nationals opened up play the day before in their shiny new shrine to America’s Pastime. Just think, as wonderful as it is that baseball is back, there are only 161 games left. Let’s take a look around the league on this first day of April.

Less Devil, More Win
Rays Break up the Rays. Six-two victory over the Orioles to reach 1-0. Do you realize that if the Rays continue to win at this pace, they’ll finish the season at 162-0? Can you imagine it? The new ownership has made a big difference with this team. In just two short seasons the Rays have gone from laughingstock to potentially undefeated. It’s a New Day in Tampa Bay like none even the Glazers could have imagined. One team, indeed.

Waveland Ave, You Betta Reccanize
Sure, the Cubs lost, but I tell you that they are the team to beat in the National. Kerry Wood will take them all the way this year. Unless he gets injured again. Then they’ll be out by the break.

The Players Are Not JuicedClean
During the winter and spring, our esteemed members of Congress took baseball to task over steroids. And through the hard work of those stalwart legislators and the tireless efforts of Commissioner Bud Selig baseball is now the cleanest sport in all of professional sports. Fans can now return to the ballpark confident that they are seeing un-enhanced players using just their God-given talents as they strive to be successful on the diamond.

Running Items
WTF?
Fukudome. Nuff said.

2008 World Series
Rays vs. Cubs
These two juggernauts will not be stopped until they meet in October.

Next Week: Are the Yankees spending enough on their roster? Can they improve through further acquisition?
