Atlanta Falcons: Sabaned
Adding insult to injury, Bobby Petrino resigned yesterday as Head Coach of the Atlanta Falcons.
Maybe he didn’t realize that in the NFL the season is 16 games long. Rumors are Bobby started his Arkansas press conference with, “I’m happy to be able to coach that rare talent in Darren McFadden… wait. What?!” You’d think that by now NFL owners wouldn’t keep hiring high-profile college coaches anymore. Desperation will cloud an otherwise sane person’s judgment everytime. Of course, the Falcons weren’t exactly in desperation mode when they dismissed Jim Mora. They were winning (for the most part) and had the most electrifying
quarterback in a generation. All they needed to do was find a good assistant who was ready to be a Head Coach.
Maybe Rich McKay can use his super-football-genius to find the right coach this time. The hurting the Bucs will put on this team Sunday should be of the Deep variety.
For all those folks that just love this kind of thing, Saban and the Crimson Tide will visit Arkansas to open their respective SEC seasons next year.
