Super Duper Bowl XLI
The teams are set. Chicago and Indianapolis. Has anyone started up the hype machine yet?
Big ups to the Colts. I have to give them credit for beating three teams they were not expected to defeat. Long time readers of TALB will think that I hate the Colts. Which is partially true. However, it mostly goes to their QB. One Peyton Manning.
You see, TALB is first and foremost a college football fan. And of course a Gator fan. Naturally, I root against our rivals’ players once they reach the NFL. Side note: rival players who become Buccaneers get a lifetime exemption so long as they play well (Sapp, Brooks, Brad Johnson) while they are here. Which leads me to the following regarding the Colts, I despise Peyton Manning therefore the Colts suck.
What about Dungy? It is true that we here at TALB want nothing but the best for Tony. And if his team were piloted by a different quarterback, then TALB would put our full weight behind the team. However, I must make the following chart to demonstrate why I am rooting for the Bears over the Colts.
Pro Colts: Tony Dungy
Pro Bears: Peyton Manning, Rex Grossman, Lovie Smith, NFC
You see, there’s really no competition. Go Bears. But we can now no longer count out the Colts. They will either crumble under the defense of the Bears, or pass right by them on the way to a blow-out.
I think it will be the former. I don’t know if the Colts can keep it up. Plus the Bears just got done crushing a team with a good QB, good receivers*, and a dual-threat running attack. Bears over Colts 21-17
*No WRs compare to Indy. But the Saints have a decent set.
