Replay TV
The long cold off-season is fully upon us football fans. The only news coming from the free-agent market and the police blotter until April. But, the niche Arena League season is in full swing with the hometown Storm out to a 4-2 record. This is but a short TALB edition, I plan to do something a bit more in-depth as the draft approaches next month.
Welcome To the 90’s
Recently, the powers-that-be in the world of NCAA Division I football have approved the use of instant replay for any conference that so desires starting with the 2005 season. So far, the SEC, ACC, and Mountian West have expressed the desire to implement a replay system. Keep in mind though, that this will not be the same system we are used to in the NFL. There are no coaches’ challenges nor do the on-field officials get to review the play. In fact, the college system seems to resemble the original NFL attempt many years back. Hopefully they can make it work. The Big Ten tes866″ the system in 2004 revealed that games that went to replay were extended just three minutes on average.
QB Or Not QB
Brad Johnson is gone. Thanks for the memories guy. Just like Lynch and Sapp before you we cherish your time here, but your time has passed. Much love homeboy.
Brian Griese has been signed to a new five-year deal to be the starting Bucs QB next season. This is a good move in my opinion. The guy was doing pretty good with the offense last season and with another year of experience should be able to correct the problems he had at the end of the season.
Mow The Lawn
According to a survey of NFL players, Raymond James Stadium has the best field in all of the league. If you follow the Bucs closely you know that the Bucs’ field (RayJay or Sombrero) has been named best or near the top pretty much every year for a long time.
Running Items
WTF? (Baseball Edition)
Mark McGwire might have taken steroids? You’re kidding me. I would never have thought.
Oh Ricky
Ricky Williams has to give back his bonus after all.
Grated Cheese
Brett Favre is coming back for one more go at it.
Next Time: Is there a Draft in here?
